Get weekly feedback
Joining a class of up to 8 students at the same level as you, you’ll enjoy plenty of personal feedback and attention from the teacher and improve with every lesson. You’ll also have the chance to move to a higher group as you progress!
Connect with British culture
As well as learning British phrases, pronunciation and grammar, you’ll gain an insight into our culture, helping you better understand and enjoy films, music and conversations with English speakers.

What makes our General English course different?
We design our lessons in the same way we would for a classroom. Instead of simply listening to the teacher speak, you’ll actively use English throughout the entire lesson.

Every lesson includes activities that encourage you to use English. One week, you might discuss the rise of artificial intelligence; the next you could be writing a restaurant review.
Keeping you accountable
We’ll give you activities or materials to work on between classes to keep improving. No pressure or deadlines, just fun activities you can do when you have time.
Designing specialised courses
Instead of focusing on a specific syllabus, we create our own courses. That way, we can make sure to arm you with language that’s relevant (and interesting) to you.

Unlike most other English programmes, our General English lessons run on a cancel-anytime monthly membership basis.
That means you can join when you want, leave when you need and study with us for as long as you please. Stay for long enough, and you may even move to a higher level group!

Take our short online quiz to see if this is the right programme for you. Don’t worry if you can’t answer all the questions—it’s just so we can get to know you better!
2) Book a trial lesson
Once you’ve taken the quiz, we’ll recommend the perfect group for your level. You can then book a trial lesson. Book before Sunday to come along the following week.
3) Become a member
After your trial lesson, we’ll be in touch to discuss your experience. If it's the right course for you, you can sign up for a monthly subscription.

Born in Berkshire but based in Devon, Gail has been teaching English for 23 years. Fun fact: 5 minutes before one of her first lessons, she got locked in a toilet! Luckily she escaped just in time.
Qualification: Trinity Certificate in TESOL & Trinity Diploma in TESOL

Laura
Laura taught in South Korea, Vietnam, Spain, Portugal and, of course, the UK before joining us. She loves learning about new cultures as much as sharing her own, so expect her to take an interest in yours.

Maxine
Maxine is our exam preparation specialist, and she loves nothing more than watching her students’ confidence grow. She’s currently learning Welsh, so knows how tricky languages can be - but her enthusiasm makes it easier.

Alev
Fluent in three languages and now working on her fourth, Alev is our team polyglot. She’s also a super experienced English teacher, so although she might speak your language she’ll never do it in class!
